HOW DO I ADOPT A DOG OR CAT?

Fill out the Dog Adoption Screening Form  and submit the form on-line.  Screening forms can also be obtained and filled out at adoption events.  We will begin to process your application in most cases the same day we receive it.  Generally we will contact you within 48 hours of receiving the application with further questions or to notify you that the paperwork part of the process has been completed.  If you have not met the dog that that you are interested in prior to submitting the application the next step would be to arrange a meet and greet with your family.  We require you to bring your current dog(s) to the visit.  It will be determined either during or after the visit if your application is given final approval for adoption.

Filling out the adoption screening form does not bind you to anything, it just helps us to make the best match. Your application will be reviewed and it may take a few days for our volunteers to respond.

From time to time, we receive multiple applications for the same pet.

Please be aware that our animal adoptions are NOT on a first come – first serve basis.

Our sole purpose is to find the best match for the animals that fall under our care. We will carefully review all applications and check veterinary/personal references. We contact your veterinarian references to ensure that current and/or deceased pets were properly taken care of; this means being current on all vaccinations and spayed/neutered.
