The Shelter Animal Project is made up of volunteers. We are dedicated to helping all our animals transition into the next phase of their life; which we hope is their last stop. All of our dogs have a history. Some are known and some are unknown. All dogs are living in a foster home. We take the time to get to know every dog in our care and and strive to place it in the best suitable home for long term happiness.

To release a dog into TSAP’S custody you will have to sign an owner release form. There is a fee to release your personal dog into our custody. If your dog is current on vaccinations and altered the fee is $125. If your dog is not up to date with vaccinations and/or not altered the surrender fee is $250. All dogs are put through a thorough temperament test prior to acceptance to our rescue. Once a dog is accepted into our rescue it is immediately removed from your home. We do not allow owners to foster their pets once they are released to TSAP.
Typically we do not accept stray dogs into our rescue. Please be sure to check with your county and state guidelines regarding the protocol of what to do with a stray animal. We recommend that you bring the dog to a veterinarian and have the dog scanned for a micro-chip, post pictures of the dog on lost and found dog websites, make flyers in the area where the dog was found, and contact your local authorities to let them know you have a stray.
